This rewarding position plays an important role in ensuring the safety of students as they travel to and from school each day. Position Summary Reporting to the Manager of Enforcement, the School Crossing Guard is responsible for safely assisting school children at designated crossing locations by monitoring pedestrian and vehicle traffic and promoting safe crossing practices. Responsibilities Ensure the safe crossing of students at assigned school crossings. Monitor pedestrian and vehicle traffic and assess traffic flow. React quickly and appropriately to changing traffic conditions. Promote safe crossing practices and provide a positive presence within the community. Report any safety concerns or incidents to the Supervisor of Enforcement. Qualifications The successful candidate will: Be reliable, dependable, and friendly. Possess good hearing and visual abilities. Have the ability to supervise and monitor students effectively. Demonstrate sound judgment and the ability to react quickly in changing situations. Be physically capable of standing and walking for extended periods. Be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. Schedule Monday to Friday during the school year. Approximately 10 hours per week. Availability is required: Before school During lunch After school Weekends, statutory holidays, and school holidays are off. Requirements Successful candidates must: Provide a Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance Certificate. Attend and successfully complete all mandatory training. Why Join Us?
