Job summary
Childcare Volunteers assist staff in providing high-quality care for children aged 2-12Y by helping monitor safety and engaging children through play in our Child Development Centre. Responsibilities: * Actively and enthusiastically participate with children 2-12Y * Encourage a positive, play-based environment for children * Help plan and implement age-appropriate, play-based activities * Greet parents and children in a friendly and welcoming manner * Help ensure the safety of all children by being aware of situations and the environment * Assist with cleaning the space and supplies * Know how to assist in emergency procedures * Check messages and communicate regularly with supervisors * Log hours on the appropriate time sheet * Be reliable and punctual (arrive ready for shift in proper uniform) Qualities: * Willing to learn new processes and follow procedures * Enthusiastic, helpful, welcoming, and comfortable interacting with children and families * Ability to engage with children 2-12Y Work Term: * September – June. * Weekday evenings and weekend mornings * 2 shifts/week. Shifts are 2-3 hours long Qualifications/ Skills Required: * Between 13 and 17 years of age. * Completion of minimum Emergency First Aid with CPR C or Lifesaving Society Bronze Medallion. * Completion of Volunteer Training – Provided by Westside. * Ability to engage with children 2-12Y

Requirements
Candidates must be between 13 and 17 years of age and hold a valid Emergency First Aid with CPR C or Lifesaving Society Bronze Medallion. Applicants are expected to be enthusiastic, reliable, and willing to complete provided volunteer training.
