Job summary
Casual on Call - No Guaranteed Hours This position is at the L03 level with an hourly pay range of $30.82 - $39.00 (PSAC Bargaining Unit) Reporting to the Support Services Supervisor, Watson Lake Community Hospital, the incumbent prepares and cooks meals for patients/residents/customers according to prescribed departmental policies and procedures. Knowledge, skills and abilities required: * Thorough knowledge of Food Safety practices * Knowledge of Institutional Cooking methods and practices * Knowledge of Basic Nutrition and Therapeutic Diets * Knowledge of Sanitation & Occupational Health and Safety Practices * Strong organization and time management skills * Good problem solving skills * Good interpersonal and communications skills (both oral and written) * Demonstrated skills in working with diverse populations * Ability to work with minimal supervision * Ability to demonstrate initiative and take action within scope of practice * Cross cultural awareness and sensitivity The successful applicant will have a Cooking Diploma/Certificate (minimum 1 year course length), two (2) years of institutional and/or healthcare cooking experience, Food Safe 1 certificate, and a valid class 5 Yukon drivers’ license. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be considered. Closed: Open Until Filled
