Job summary
Signing Bonus May Apply Regular Part-Time Position - (0.5 FTE) Six (6) Months On, Six (6) Months Off Rotational Schedule: June - November / December - May This position is at the L09 level with an hourly pay range of $49.73 - $66.42 (PIPSC Bargaining Unit) Reporting to the Operations Leader, Registered Nurses administer and implement medical and therapeutic programs ordered by the physician; develop, and implement individualized nursing care plans; and provide emergency care for stabilization of multiple trauma or critically ill medical/obstetrical patients until medical evacuation can be arranged. As team members, through the provision of treatment services and health education, the incumbent fosters an environment in which clients can achieve and maintain optimal health. Duties include: providing inpatient and outpatient/emergency care for the patient; assisting with planning; implementing and evaluating a comprehensive family service; and performing other related duties which contribute to the optimal functioning of the unit. Knowledge, skills and abilities required: * Knowledge of established practices and procedures of professional nursing care; * Knowledge of trends and developments in the nursing field; * Effective interpersonal skills; * Initiative, good judgment and reliability; * Advocacy and assertiveness skills; * Commitment to lifelong learning; * Basic computer literacy skills; * Ability to teach nursing practices and other relevant clinical skills; * Ability to develop and implement nursing care/treatment/discharge plans; * Excellent written and oral communication skills; * Excellent problem solving skills; * Cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity. The successful candidate should have a Diploma/Baccalaureate degree in Nursing; be currently registered with Yukon Registered Nurses Association (YRNA); and have current C.P.R certification, a valid Yukon Driver’s License and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate. Certification in A.C.L.S., N.R.P, and T.N.C.C would be desirable. A minimum of (2) two – (3) three years of experience in acute care nursing is required for this position. Emergency Nursing experience would be considered an asset. Requirements
Candidates must hold a Diploma or Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, current registration with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association, and valid C.P.R. certification. A minimum of two to three years of acute care nursing experience is required, along with a valid Yukon Driver’s License and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate.
