Applications are invited from teachers with BC Certification for the following teaching position: Alert Bay Elementary School, Alert Bay, BC 0.25 FTE Continuing – ADST, Career Education and K-7 Prep Coverage Commencing: ASAP The successful candidate will have the following qualifications: elementary teaching experience; strong classroom management skills; academic training, qualifications and recent successful experience teaching elementary level Applied Design Skills and Tech and Career Education; the ability and energy to work with multi-age groups and meet the needs of students with a range of learning styles and abilities using a variety of teaching strategies; strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills to communicate with students, staff, and parents in a team oriented approach to teaching and learning; understanding of evidence based literacy assessments and strategies; strong formative assessment practices; experience with RTI (Response to Intervention) systems; ability to integrate technology to enhance student learning; strong interest in innovation and inquiry; and ability to embed local Indigenous culture and ways of knowing into teaching The starting annual salary for a full-time School Teacher position ranges from $71,425 to $119,497, with placement in the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
