Salary: $25,333.00 – $38,882.00 per year, based on experience, training and final FTE
Job Type: Permanent, Part-Time
Schedule: Two days per week
Vancouver Waldorf School (VWS), located in North Vancouver, British Columbia, is seeking a Physical Education Teacher for a permanent part-time position for Grades 2-8. The available position will commence with the start of the 2026/2027 School year, with teaching 2 days per week.
The applicant must have training in Physical Education. Waldorf teaching experience is preferred, and the applicant will be expected to prepare and deliver lesson plans per the Waldorf and BC Ministry of Education curriculums. The applicant must have the ability to work with children with a range of abilities across the different age groups.
In addition to teaching the Waldorf School Physical Education curriculum to students in Grades 2-8, other duties will include:
Attendance at planning and training days during the two weeks prior to the first day of school Evaluation of student progress, oral and written report writing and parent meetings Manage facility bookings with North Van Recreation Centre Parent interaction Recess supervision (negotiable) Committee work Attendance at department and faculty meetings and school-specific events outside of regular teaching hours Regular professional development sessions
Skills Required Include
Bachelor’s degree in Education BC Teaching Certificate or ability to qualify Experience with and/or knowledge of Waldorf Education Experience with Spacial Dynamics movement theory
Teachers at VWS must be certified to teach in BC. If you are not a certified teacher but possess an undergraduate degree in your subject area or have completed your Waldorf Teacher Training, you can apply online for a Subject or System Restricted Certificate for independent schools.
