Position Summary

Temporary Part-Time Support Staff, new position (Immediate - Dec 24, 2026)

The Employer Relations Officer (ERO) is responsible for supporting the cooperative education recruitment cycle and maintaining effective relationships with students, employers, and internal stakeholders. The role emphasizes high-quality, student-centred service and accurate administration of employment and recruitment processes. Working as part of a campus team, the incumbent coordinates co-op recruitment activities, maintains data integrity, supports employer engagement, and acts as a liaison between Employer Relations Consultants (ERCs) and Co-op Advisors.

Successful candidates will be required to conduct work within Ontario and must be available to work on campus as required. It is anticipated that this position will meet the needs of the department through a hybrid work arrangement, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with three days on-site at the Doon campus located at 299 Doon Valley Dr. in Kitchener, and two days remote.

Responsibilities

Co-op recruitment coordination

Ensure accurate and timely data entry in MyCareer in compliance with policies and legislation (e.g., Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL)) Review job postings to confirm alignment with program outcomes Coordinate interview schedules (on-campus and off-campus) Coordinate student job offers and employer confirmations using the MyCareer Rank and Offer function Administer resume referral services for students who have not secured employment Monitor and maintain accurate data for reporting, including work term status and performance evaluations Identify and escalate technical issues; support students and employers in resolving system-related concerns

Employer relations support

Collaborate with Employer Relations Consultants to support employer engagement Maintain accurate employer records and communication in MyCareer Assist in generating employment opportunities through outreach activities (e.g., email, phone campaigns, targeted communications) Contribute to strategies to promote programs and enhance employer partnerships

Admissions and data management

Maintain accurate student and employer records within college systems Ensure documentation is complete and complies with college standards Support reporting requirements by collecting and organizing accurate data

Student service and campus support

Provide responsive, consistent service to students, faculty, and employers Collaborate with campus teams to support a seamless service experience Participate in cross-functional training and maintain knowledge of campus services and referral pathways Support student transition and retention initiatives (e.g., orientation, peak service periods) Provide general information on college tools and resources, including MyCareer and student services

Qualifications

Two-year diploma in Business Administration, Office Administration, Human Resources or a related field is required Three years of experience in a busy office environment is required; experience in a student services or employment services setting is preferred Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Understanding of sales, marketing or employer engagement practices Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Professional judgement, tact, and diplomacy High level of computer proficiency and experience with databases, web-based systems, contact management systems, and Microsoft Office
