Job Details:

Position Title: Part-time Professor, Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography Program
Status: Part-time teaching contract (1-6 hrs/week)
Hours: 1-6 hours per week
Faculty/Department: Faculty of Health& Life Sciences
Campus/Location: North Campus
Salary: Academic starting salaries are determined based on qualifications and years of related experience

About the PT Professor, Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography Program Role:

Knowledge of learning pedagogy, learning design techniques, educational technology, and authentic assessment are required for curriculum development. This individual will create and deliver innovative designs for courses that engage students in courses and modules that support a flexible, customizable, and personalized learning experience for students.

We are accepting applications for part-time professors to participate in curriculum development and teach lecture courses and laboratory classes in the Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography program.

Education

  • Graduate of a recognized sonography program
  • A minimum of an undergraduate degree is required, with preference given to graduate degrees

Experience

  • Registered Member of the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO), in good standing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in the discipline.
  • Previous teaching experience, preferably at the post-secondary level.
  • Previous experience in curriculum development, coaching, working with mature adults, volunteer coordination, outcomes-based education, flexible learning, Blackboard, Banner, classroom management, and/or accommodation/human rights is an asset.
  • Additional competencies include, but are not limited to, strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills, commitment to teaching excellence, student success and inclusive teaching practices (i.e. Universal Design for Learning).
