Job Description: UPS is currently looking for Part-time Local Sorters to work from our Nanaimo Package Facility Position Title: Local Sorters Position Type: Permanent Part-time Work Hours: 4:00PM – 8:00PM* Workdays: Monday to Friday* Location: Madsen Rd, Nanaimo BC Shift schedules may vary based on operational requirements Local Sorters are responsible for unloading and loading packages off and on trailers, air canisters and other vehicles early in the morning. Other responsibilities may include: Lifting, lowering, and moving of packages weighing between 10 to 70lbs. Scanning and sorting packages based on postal codes, addresses, package dimensions Understanding and recognizing postal codes, routing charts and maps Standing closely with conveyor, roller belts and other equipment in the warehouse Washing package cars to ensure cleanliness Qualifications Available to work Monday to Friday Ability to follow set of safety and standard procedures; Good organizational and multi-tasking skills Comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically demanding work environment; Able to regularly and safely lift packages between 10-lbs up to 70-lbs unassisted; Must be comfortable working in a warehouse environment. Warehouse experience is considered an asset but not required. All candidates must go through a series of interviews, background and reference checks. What we offer...
