We?re hiring a friendly and motivated Part-Time Retail Assistant to support daily store operations and help create an exceptional in?store experience for pets and their people.

This role involves engaging with customers, providing product information, and ensuring an excellent shopping experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

About the Role

The Part-Time Retail Associate plays a key role in delivering warm, knowledgeable customer service and maintaining a clean, organized, pet-friendly retail environment. This role supports store operations, inventory handling, merchandising, and online order fulfillment.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Greet customers and provide friendly, knowledgeable support.
• Offer guidance on raw feeding, supplements, and product selection.
• Build positive relationships with customers and their pets.
• Resolve basic customer concerns with professionalism and empathy.
• Promote and enroll customers in the CHEWS frequent buyer program.

Store Operations

• Assist with opening/closing procedures as scheduled.
• Process transactions accurately using the POS system.
• Maintain a clean, organized, pet-friendly retail space.
• Support freezer/fridge organization and cleanliness.
• Help prepare and fulfill local delivery and online pickup orders.

Inventory Support

• Restock shelves and rotate raw/frozen products.
• Receive and organize deliveries.
• Maintain tidy, visually appealing product displays.
• Report low stock, damaged items, or discrepancies to the manager.

Merchandising

• Keep displays neat, organized, and on-brand.
• Assist with seasonal or promotional merchandising updates.

Qualifications

• 1?2 years of retail or customer service experience (pet industry an asset).
• Genuine love for animals and interest in pet nutrition.
• Strong communication and people skills.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (raw food boxes).
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
• Availability for evenings and weekends (up to 20 hours/week).
• Experience with POS systems (Lightspeed is a plus).

Pay: $17.60 per hour
