The School of Health and Wellness at RDP is currently inviting applications for a Part-time instructor position in the Kinesiology and Sports Studies Program commencingAugust 17, 2026. If you have any questions prior to application, please email shwcareers@rdpolytech.ca.
The Kinesiology and Sports Studies program prepares the graduate for a range of practice opportunities related to kinesiology and sports. Students may choose to complete a 2-year diploma at RDP or transfer to partner institutions to complete 3rd and4th year studies toward a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to):

Teaching students in classroom and/or lab settings with flexibility for both face to face and online course delivery.

Creating a stimulating, effective, and learner-centered environment.

Preparing, reviewing and/or updating course material.

Marking, grading, and evaluation of student work.
-
Providing ongoing feedback, guidance, and assistance to students.
-
Actively contributing and participating in program planning, curriculum development & review, project work, and scholarly activity.
-
Participating in School and Polytechnic wide initiatives and/or committees.
-
Upholding the Professional Responsibilities of Faculty at RDP which are described within the Faculty Performance Policy. Demonstrating and promoting RDP organizational values and following RDP policies and practices.
Required Qualifications
-
Master’s degree in area related to Kinesiology & Sport or Recreation
-
Current registration with the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association (CATA)
-
Recent clinical / practical experience
-
Excellent communication, public relations and interpersonal skills
-
Passion for teaching, ability to inspire students, and commitment to student learning and success
-
Ability to work effectively in a variety of team environments
-
Proven commitment to continuous learning and reflective practice
Preferred Qualifications
-
At least 5 years of experience as an athletic therapist
-
Additional experience and education in the field.
-
Experience teaching in a post-secondary environment.

Benefits and Compensation Information
Part-time Instructors:
-
Receive an additional 14% of their gross salary in lieu of benefits and vacation pay.

Part-time instructors are not eligible for comprehensive health and dental benefits packages.

Eligible for individual professional development funding, additional free professional development opportunities offered through the institution.
