About the Position
- Position Title: LINC CNC Educator
- Job Type: Part Time- 14 hours per week (Monday-Thursday)
- Department: Languages
- Reports to: Senior Coordinator, Languages & Childminding
Position Overview
Reporting to the Senior Coordinator, Languages and Childminding, LINC CNC educators provide professional care for Newcomer Children under the guidance and leadership of lead CNC educators.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Be familiar with and follow relevant licensing regulations,policiesand TIES Care for Newcomer Children (CNC) Program administrative manual
- Complete daily routine tasks including setting up the rooms appropriately and safely for children; building rapport with parents and providing assistance, following proper protocols for signing in and out all children, checking children for injuries and illness upon arrival, recording children’s daily attendance, activities, and health status, providing a healthy snack, and other housekeeping tasks
- Inspect andmaintaincleanliness of toys and equipment, report noticeable hazard materials and equipment to the supervisorimmediately
- Monitorthe children’s behavior and intervene as needed
- Assist the LINC Lead CNC Educator in planning activities for the program which respect and reflect diverse values and traditions of the enrolled children
- Maintainproper hygiene of all children and be aware of signs or symptoms of abuse and contagious illnesses
- Document andsubmitincident reports to the supervisor and communicate with the parents when applicable
- Be willing to travel between two locations andrelocateto another location for the needs of program operations should it arise

Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum Level 1/childcare assistant certificate
- At least 1 year of childcare working experience
- Valid first-aid certificate
- Clear police check with vulnerable sector check within 6 months prior to employment
- Valid food safety certificate
- Valid Tetanus and Diphtheria Vaccination
- Valid clear Tuberculosis test result
