About the role

In this customer-focused security role, you will be the first point of contact for tenants and visitors while playing a critical role in protecting people, property, and assets. Combining strong customer service with proactive security practices, you will help ensure the safety, security, and smooth operation of a professional corporate setting. Hourly wage of $20.00

Stable part-time position with the following schedule: Saturdays from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM and Sundays from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. We invest in your growth by covering the costs of continuing education through GardaWorld Academy. Career growth opportunities within GardaWorld.

Responsibilities for Corporate Security Guard

Conduct routine patrols of the premises, with a particular focus on start-of-shift and end-of-shift inspections.

Monitor CCTV systems and respond promptly to irregularities or security incidents.

Provide concierge services, including access control, assisting tenants, and responding to inquiries.

Ensure all access points, including doors, windows, gates, and skylights, are secure.

Identify and report hazards, such as leaks, faulty lighting, or other unsafe conditions.

Inspect vehicles, parcels, and waste removal activities in accordance with site procedures and post orders.

Complete detailed incident and activity reports and communicate effectively with relief officers and clients.

Qualifications for Corporate Security Guard

Authorized to work in Canada.

Valid BC Security License.

First Aid certification (an asset).

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Basic computer and phone proficiency.

Previous security or concierge experience preferred.

Strong observation, reporting, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to remain calm and use sound judgment under pressure.

Physically capable of conducting patrols in all weather conditions.
