We are looking for a Weekend Youth Worker to join our team. Someone who is dynamic, energetic, creative, and flexible.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Build a strong rapport with hard to reach youth
• Knowledgeable of all individual youth plans
• Create events to support youth's individualize service plans through educational, vocational, recreational, mental health, or personal development events
• Curate or attend cultural events in the community
• Support youth in their individualized goals in a one on one or group setting with youth
• Support Live-In-Support worker staff
• Proper Documentation
• Ensure all individual safety and community plans are being followed
• Transport youth to and from appointments, recreational activities, and family visits.
• Must do preventative work including outreach
• Communicate with Supervisors surrounding plans for youth
• Follow policies and procedures as listed by Anika Youth Services

QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE:

• Must able to work 12pm-8pm Saturdays and Sundays.
• The Saturday Sunday shifts will be weekend youth worker
• Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in a related field
• Must have a Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver?s License and must have own vehicle
• Driving record check (abstract)
• Current First Aid certificate and or MANDT/NVCI
• Mandatory clear criminal record check
• A good understanding of the dynamics of working with at risk youth with mental health needs
• Must be energetic, enthusiastic and be self-motivated

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• Excellent ability to engage and motivate challenging youth
• Must display a great degree of professionalism on a day to day basis
• Take initiative on planning events and skill based programs
• Excellent conflict resolution and mediation skills
• Excellent communication skills including report writing
• Ability to establish a positive rapport with hard to reach youth
• Excellent documentation skills

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $26.74 per hour
