About the role

True North Cannabis Co. & True North Vapes are looking for energetic, customer-focused individuals to join our team in a dynamic dual-retail environment.

In this role, you’ll support both cannabis and vape/tobacco operations while delivering exceptional customer experiences and maintaining strict compliance with Ontario regulations.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

CUSTOMER SERVICE & SALES

  • Welcome and assist customers with a friendly, professional approach
  • Provide knowledgeable recommendations on cannabis and vape products
  • Deliver a high level of customer engagement and product education
  • Upsell and cross-sell to meet individual and store sales goals
  • Handle customer questions or concerns with professionalism and care

STORE OPERATIONS & COMPLIANCE

  • Verify age (19+) in accordance with AGCO and provincial regulations
  • Follow all cannabis and tobacco compliance standards
  • Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising
  • Assist with inventory (receiving, stocking, rotating products)
  • Support store events, audits, and safety procedures

KEYHOLDER RESPONSIBILITIES (AS ASSIGNED)

  • Open and close the store following company procedures
  • Complete cash handling, reconciliation, and reporting
  • Lead the sales floor in the absence of management
  • Ensure team adherence to policies, safety, and compliance
  • Act as a point of contact for staff and customers during shifts

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Must be 19 years of age or older
  • CannSell Certification (required before start date)
  • 1+ year of retail or customer service experience (regulated industry preferred)
  • Experience with POS systems and cash handling
  • Previous keyholder or leadership experience is an asset
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable, responsible, and team-oriented

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to remain on your feet and actively move throughout the store for extended periods (8–10 hours per shift)
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, and organize inventory up to 40 lbs
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and stocking across multiple store zones (sales floor, stockroom, secure storage)
  • Strong attention to detail for tasks such as ID verification, cash handling, and POS operation
  • Ability to maintain focus, clear communication, and situational awareness in a fast-paced, regulated retail environment

COMPENSATION & HOURS

  • Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Contract
  • Part-time: 0–31 hours per week
  • Full-time: 32–44 hours per week
  • Store hours may range between 9:00 AM – 11:00 PM, 7 days a week
