Position Summary
The Ticket Scanner works primarily at the South Okanagan Events Centre as well as occasionally at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre. This position will assist guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner with ticket scanning as applicable. This is an event-based part-time position. Most shifts are 2-4 hours. This position requires standing during the shift.
This role pays an hourly rate of $18.00-$22.00 CAD

Responsibilities
Arrives for each scheduled shift on time, in uniform and ready to work Scans guest tickets and directs guest to the appropriate area of the venue for their seating Welcomes guests to the venue and directs them to expedite the flow of guest traffic Attentively listens to guests’ questions and requests Provides kind and courteous customer service for all guests Listens to guest concerns and complaints in a calm and patient manner and resolves issue to the satisfaction of guest or, if necessary, contacts Supervisor/Manager to assist guest Become familiar with the venue/event in order to accurately answer guest questions or direct them to the appropriate area Watches for ticketing issues and reports them to management Other duties as necessary to assist with the ticket selling and scanning process
Qualifications
High school diploma/GED preferred Basic computer skills, ideally with a computerized ticketing system and POS system, if applicable Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to keep accurate and legible records, if applicable Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
