_ Mechanics Teacher Needed_

**0.4 FTE (2 days a week) **

About Us:

Sts'ailes Community School is located within the traditional territory of the Sts'ailes People, near Harrison Mills, BC. Our K-12 school is a fully BC accredited First Nations school with around 200 students.

Sts'ailes Community School inspires and empowers students to explore their cultural, academic and social-emotional world and to strive for their personal best while becoming happy, respectful, responsible and confident community leaders.

Requirements:

- Hold a valid BC Ministry of Education Trades Certificate OR Professional Certificate.

- Have a Red Seal or Certificate of Qualification in mechanics, that is recognized by the ITA

- Have a valid BC driver's license and own transportation.

- Experience teaching in a middle or secondary school.


Assets:

- Previous Secondary school instructional experience.

  • Experience using a restitution-based approach to classroom management and discipline. - Professional development and experience in Trauma-Informed Care.

- Experience working in or with a First Nations community or in Indigenous education.
