Job Summary
Fraser Health is seeking a Medical Director of Medical Education. The Medical Director of Medical Education acts as liaison of all medical education that is provided for medical students, residents, clinical fellows, attending medical staff and other Health Professions trainees at Fraser Health. The Medical Director is responsible and reports to the Vice President, Medicine. The incumbent will work closely with the Faculty of Medicine UBC, Heads of Departments and Divisions, undergraduate and post-graduate educational Program Directors and committees, and the Executive Medical Director of Medical Affairs in the delivery of educational programs. In addition to ensuring a positive training experience for Faculty of Medicine trainees at Fraser Health, the Medical Director will seek opportunities to engage trainees in all Fraser Health organizational priorities. The Medical Director will seek to address the impact at Fraser Health of changes to training programs, including competency based medical education, distributed teaching, and shift in trainee allocations. Time Commitment: 0.4 FTE Qualifications: A physician licensed to practice in BC and member of the Medical Staff of Fraser Health Authority. Holds both a UBC Faculty of Medicine and SFU School of Medicine faculty appointment. Previous experience in a medical education leadership role; advanced degree in medical education, healthcare administration or a related field is favoured. Strong track record of scholarly and/or academic activity. Demonstrated experience supporting the creation of organizational strategy and leading programs and teams. Demonstrated expertise in accreditation processes and/or other pertinent facets of medical education. Strong leadership and management skills, with a track record of fostering collaboration and teamwork, particularly with partner organizations. Physically able to perform the duties of the position.
