About the role
Position Department: Football Position School: Administration Overview: This individual will provide vital coaching, operational, and administrative support to the head football coach and assistant coaching staff, gaining elite, hands-on experience in a competitive collegiate environment. This role actively assists with on-field player development, practices, and game-day preparation, while spearheading crucial off-field responsibilities including film breakdown, scouting report generation, and recruit tracking. Serving as a mentor to student-athletes and a bridge between players and staff, the position requires a relentless work ethic, strong football acumen, and absolute compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations. Responsibilities: Will actively support all aspects of the football program's daily operations, splitting time between on-field coaching and off-field preparation. Responsibilities include assisting with position-specific drill work during practices, conducting extensive video breakdown and opponent film analysis, and creating detailed scouting reports to assist the coordinator staff with game-week planning. Additionally, the role provides essential logistical support for recruiting, including managing prospect databases and assisting with campus visits, while taking on administrative tasks during team travel and summer camps. Throughout all duties, the assistant serves as a direct mentor to student-athletes, monitors academic progress, and ensures strict compliance with all NCAA, conference, and institutional rules. Minimum Qualifications: The ideal candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and meet all academic requirements for full admission into the university’s graduate school program. This position requires prior experience in football, either as a collegiate student-athlete or through a coaching or support role at the high school, collegiate, or professional level. Candidates must demonstrate deep football acumen, exceptional communication skills, a relentless work ethic, and the ability to work demanding, non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Strong technical proficiency with video editing software (DVSport) is highly preferred, alongside a steadfast commitment to player safety and strict compliance with NCAA, conference, and university regulations.
