Specific Skills

Our medical office assistants will generally perform a mix of reception tasks and ushering patient tasks. Receptionists tasks will include, but is not limited to, greeting patients and clinic visitors and directing them to appropriate contacts or service areas, answering incoming telephone calls using a telephone switchboard system, recording and relay information using the EMR or online Portal system, scheduling and confirming appointments, receiving and applying payments using basic debit machine, performing various clerical duties, such as filing and sorting and distributing mail.

Ushering patient tasks include but are not limited to, taking vitals and measurements for various aged patients, explaining urine samples (and dipping to test urine) and explaining swabs, clean and sanitize exam rooms, stock and replenish supplies in exam rooms and assist physicians with exams as needed and work one on work with the physicians or nurses.
