As a Library Technician, you play a vital role in promoting literacy, fostering a love of reading, and supporting students' academic success. Your responsibilities will include managing library resources, organizing materials, and assisting students and staff with locating information. Additionally, you'll help maintain the library space, ensuring it's an inviting and conducive environment for learning and exploration.

POSTING DETAILS

  • Position - Library Technician
  • Start Date - September 8, 2026
  • Schedule - 3 days/week, from 8:30am-1:30pm.
  • Location(s) - Aldergrove Community Secondary

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 12 graduation

  • Completion of a Library Technician diploma program

  • Ability to type 45 wpm

  • Working knowledge of computers

  • Ability to determine, judge and select appropriate course of action related to library policies.

  • Ability to communicate effectively using tact and discretion in the explanation and clarification of information.

  • Good knowledge of Business English, punctuation and spelling

  • Ability to interact with students in an effective manner

  • Proof of completion of grade 12
  • Certification as a Library Technician
  • Copy of your transcript (official or unofficial) from your program

  • Proof of high school graduation (or completion of other post-secondary education)
