About the role
Job Description For certified teachers looking for a side gig. U+ Education is looking for a part-time TEACHER to teach reading and writing strategies to Grade 3-6 students. These will be students who need to boost their English reading and writing skills but note that this is NOT an ESL job. These will be grade-level reading/chapter-book reading and writing classes, instead of ESL listening, reading, writing, and speaking training for tests such as IELTS or TOFEL.
Work Hours: 4-7pm on Weekdays; and/or 10am - 7pm during Weekends (teach 2 - 4 lessons a week)
COMMITMENT Length: One year
Job Type: Part-time
Qualification Requirements: Degrees in English/ English literature, Drama, and Creative Writing are highly valued Experience, or practicum teaching in English Literature at the age-appropriate level Experience in skill-based teaching and project-based learning is an asset Excellent online and face-to-face classroom management skills Successful applicants will be required for a Valid Vulnerable Sector Police Screening. Salary: From $28.00 per hour
Education: Bachelor's Degree A valid teaching certificate in BC is an asset
