Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Supervisor – Golf Services, responsible for all rental equipment such as power carts, pull carts and clubs, provides janitorial services inside and outside of the clubhouse, and assists the Clerk as required.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists with the rental of all equipment including power carts, pull carts and clubs.
- Ensures all terms and conditions as outlined by the golf course policy pertaining to rentals are adhered to.
- Ensures all rental equipment is clean before and after use. Performs and records minor maintenance as directed.
- Provides janitorial services inside and outside of the immediate vicinity of the clubhouse.
- Responsible for cleaning washrooms including toilet and basin backup, spot clean glass, walls and floors as required. Checks washrooms on a routine basis. Replenishes supplies when needed.
- Empties garbage bins and recycling bins as required.
- Receives and responds to customer inquiries, comments and suggestions.
- Provides assistance to golfers and event officials as required.
- Puts out and brings in pins on practice green.
- Assists with power carts as required.
- At courses where a driving range is located, undertakes activities related to the operation of the range such as monitoring use, picking up golf balls (manually and with power cart), cleaning balls, loading the ball dispenser and assisting golfers.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
- Must be knowledgeable /experienced in the game of golf
- Ability to deal effectively with the public and staff in a friendly, courteous manner is essential
Skills/Abilities:
- Must possess and maintain at minimum a valid Class “G2” Ontario Driver’s Licence
- Must meet the definition of a competent driver as defined by the Corporation
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Seasonal employment
- Position involves shift and weekend work
- Must remain a competent driver as defined by the Corporation
- May be required to provide a successful driver’s record (uncertified)
- Hours of work will vary
