The Town of New Tecumseth is looking for a Fitness Monitor's to join our rapidly growing team.

Under the guidance and direction of the Recreation Co-ordinator, Fitness & Aquatics, the Fitness Monitor provides supervision of the fitness centre and other program spaces during operating hours. Also conducts fitness orientation sessions with participants in a professional manner. Fitness Monitors ensure patron safety, prevent accidents, and communicate policies in a polite, courteous manner.
How you contribute to our organization:
- Comply with all corporate competencies, values, policies, and procedures at all times.
- Reporting for work at least fifteen minutes prior to the start of your shift.
- Provides fitness center, gymnasium and/or fieldhouse and common area supervision.
- Records and documents any issues with equipment and reports to the Recreation Coordinator Fitness & Aquatics.
- Provides personal training services as requested by patrons.
- Conducts fitness orientation sessions that are booked in advance or scheduled with participant.
- Tours the fitness facility with any new participant that may be interested in purchasing afitness membership.
- Provides customer service support to fitness members and public.
- Works in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and all Town policies, procedures, and guidelines.
What you bring to the team:
- Personal training certificate or relevant work experience.
- Standard First Aid with CPR-C.
- Ability to provide a clean Police Records Check, Vulnerable Sector Check where appropriate.
- Demonstrated knowledge of physical fitness, coaching and instructing acquired through education or experience; and formal academic training in Recreation Leadership, Kinesiology, Physical Education or a related field is considered an asset
- Experience in customer service.
Hourly:
- $25.65-$30.17- Fitness Monitor
- $29.91 - $35.19/hr - When conducting Personal Training with patrons
- Plus 4% vacation pay, and optional enrolment in OMERS pension plan
Hours: Up to 15 hours per week, shifts vary between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekends and 8 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on weekdays.
Location: Locations vary throughout New Tecumseth (Alliston, Beeton, Tottenham)
