Pioneer Home Hardware Building Centre is looking for a motivated, customer-focused Part-Time Associate to join our team. This role combines sales floor support with front-end cashier responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working with customers in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service in both sales floor and checkout settings
• Greet customers, assist with product inquiries, and support purchasing decisions
• Scan items and process transactions accurately and efficiently
• Handle cash, credit, and debit payments with accuracy
• Maintain a clean, organized sales floor and checkout area
• Work effectively in a team environment to support daily operations
• Prioritize tasks and meet timelines that support store sales
• Problem-solve and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Utilize effective sales strategies to promote products
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations

Qualifications

• Previous retail or cashier experience preferred but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
• Basic math skills for totals and making change
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems is an asset
• Interest in Paint and Seasonal
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Experience working with the public in a customer-facing role
• Must be able to work weekend shifts

Compensation & Hours

• Wage: $18.25 - $20.00 per hour
• Hours: 4-40 hours per week (flexible scheduling available)
