Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Finish Skid Steer Operator to join our team. This role involves operating a skid steer to perform precision grading, site preparation, and surface finishing on a variety of construction projects. The successful candidate will be safety-focused, detail-oriented, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.
Responsibilities
Operate a skid steer with precision to perform fine grading, finishing, and surface preparation. Work on civil construction projects, including roadways, subdivisions, parking lots, and infrastructure developments. Follow grade stakes, elevations, and project specifications to achieve accurate finished surfaces. Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks. Report mechanical issues, equipment deficiencies, and safety concerns promptly. Collaborate with supervisors, labourers, surveyors, and other equipment operators to meet project schedules and quality standards. Maintain a safe and organized work area while adhering to all applicable safety regulations and procedures. Assist with general construction duties and support site operations as required. Operate equipment safely and efficiently in varying weather and site conditions.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience operating a skid steer in a construction environment, with a focus on fine grading and finishing. Experience in asphalt paving, gravel work, concrete preparation, earthworks, or civil construction is considered an asset. Strong understanding of grades, slopes, elevations, and finishing techniques. Ability to read and follow site plans, grade stakes, and project requirements.
