About the role

This role is a great fit for self-employed coaches and trainers looking to fill out their schedule with consistent, predictable hours — or for post-secondary students (Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, Sport Science) wanting part-time work that doesn't eat into evenings or weekends. Hours are set well in advance each term, so you can build your week around it.

Location: Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, New Westminster, Pitt Meadows & Maple Ridge

Schedule: September 2026 – June 2027. Hours vary between 7:30am–3:15pm, 2–4 hours per day. Runs 4 days/week (2–4 hrs/day) September to January, and 2 days/week (2 hrs/day) February to June.

Job Description: Deliver off-ice/dryland training to student-athletes in Hockey Academies based in secondary schools. You'll design and implement sport-specific strength, conditioning, and movement programming for groups of 20–30 co-ed hockey players aged 13–17. Some equipment is provided on-site, depending on the location, there is also access to weightrooms/gyms or indoor rink spaces.

Responsibilities: Plan and lead off-ice/dryland sessions for hockey academy athletes (ages 13–17) Design sport-specific strength, conditioning, and mobility programming for groups of 20–30 Ensure safe technique, manage equipment, and adapt sessions to varying athlete needs Optional: pick up extra hours assisting with classroom sessions and special events

Requirements: Minimum: BCRPA Group Fitness Instructor certification (or equivalent) Asset: Education or coursework in Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, or related field Asset: Experience training athletes, particularly hockey players Hockey background a plus - we're always looking to hire more on-ice coaches if interested

Pay is negotiable based on experience/education
