Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of food preparation and safety standards. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, delivering high-quality meals to our customers.

Duties

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
• Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and health standards.
• Assist in the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations, including maintaining cleanliness and organization.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
• Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages or needs to the kitchen manager.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment by following proper food handling procedures.
• Help train new kitchen staff as needed, sharing knowledge of food preparation techniques and safety practices.

Requirements

• Previous experience in the food industry or restaurant environment is preferred. Knowledge and ability to produce NL Traditional dishes would be an asset!
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment.
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices for food handling. Food Handling Certification from a NL Gov approved provided would be an asset.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with other kitchen staff.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
