HOURS OF WORK:

The stated hours of work are approximate as schedules are subject to change with the operational needs of the Health Centre. Changes made to hours of work will follow the terms of the applicable collective agreement, company policy and/or legislation.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The RPN provides client care in accordance with the Professional Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario. The RPN, as a member of the health care team, has a significant role in promoting health, preventing illness, and helping clients attain and maintain the highest level of health possible. Emergency patients range from less complex, more predictable and low risk for negative outcomes, to highly complex, unpredictable and high risk for negative outcomes. RPNs practice autonomously with patients who are less complex and have predictable outcomes. The RPN works in consultation with RNs and other members of the inter-professional team to meet the care needs of more complex clients. The RPN may provide elements of care for highly complex patients while working in close consultation with the RN directing the client’s care.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

• Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Practical Nurse Diploma from Community College
• Relevant experience on a cardiac/telemetry unit or emergency department required within the past 12 months
• Coronary Care Course required or willing to acquire within 6 months
• Recent acute medicine/surgical experience or equivalent
