Position Information

The Kinesiologist in the Safety Office leads TOH's ergonomic assessment program, and works as part of a multi-disciplinary musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) prevention team. This role supports the development and implementation of MSD prevention strategies, safe work practices, education, and resources to help prevent workplace injuries and promote a safe working environment.

Rotation/Shifts

Days, 8 hour shifts.

What You Will Bring

Four year undergraduate degree in Health sciences or related field from a recognized; university which results in ability to become a Registered Kinesiologist; Registered Kinesiologist with the College of Kinesiology of Ontario; One (1) year of experience in related field; Specialized knowledge in kinesiology and body mechanics; Ability to teach in a group setting; Fundamental technical skills; Ability to develop assessment reports; Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines; Ability to prioritize tasks; Sounds judgement and problem-solving skills.

You will stand out with:

Knowledge of applicable provincial legislation and its application, including WSIB Act, Human rights legislation, Occupational Health and Safety Act, adult education techniques; Knowledge of Hospital and departmental policies and procedures, collective agreements; Specialized knowledge in lift and transfer equipment training and utilization; Experience conducting and reporting on ergonomic assessments.
