Job opportunity The Corporation of the Town of Orangeville invites applications for the position of Fitness Instructor Community Services department (part-time position, 24 hours per week) Position description The Town of Orangeville’s Community Services Department is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Fitness instructor. This is a part-time position, commencing in September 2026. The hours of work are a maximum of twenty-four (24) hours per week. Job duties Designing and leading a variety of dry-land and aqua group fitness classes geared to various participant skill levels; ensuring proper technique and safety including choreography, music, and use of equipment; providing modifications to accommodate different abilities and fitness goals; motivating and engaging participants to create a positive and inclusive workout environment. Maintaining clean and organized program spaces, including storage areas; completing safe set-ups, take-downs and proper use of fitness equipment; being fully aware while on duty and ready to respond to emergencies. Monitoring class participation and completing attendance each class; addressing safety concerns and reporting all accidents and incidents to immediate Supervisor. Participating in ongoing training and professional development to maintain required certifications. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Completed some secondary school. Intermediate First Aid with CPR-C & AED from an accredited organization. Certified Fitness Instructor from an accredited organization such as Canadian Aquafitness Leaders Alliance, Can Fit Pro, YMCA, Ontario Fitness Council. Minimum one (1) year experience as a Fitness Instructor. Ability to design and choreograph fitness routines. Communicates clearly and effectively with participants and team members. Follows instructions accurately and efficiently. Provides excellent customer service. Hourly Range: $27.89 to 32.64, Band 4 on the Towns 2026 Pay Grid. Please note: Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, including a vulnerable sector check, as permitted under Ontario's Police Record Checks Reform Act, and in accordance with the duties of the position.
