Position: Part-Time Security Guard
Site: Headwaters Health | 100 Rolling Hills Dr, Orangeville, ON L9W 6T6
Averaging Agreement: Ontario Averaging Agreement
Hours: Saturday and Sunday (1900 - 0700)
Payrate: $19.63/hour

Key responsibilities:
- Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security
- Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.
- Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas.
- Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats. Assist hospital staff as needed during crises and evacuations.
- Greeting and assisting visitors, patients, and hospital staff. Provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
- De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.
- Document and report daily activities, incidents, security concerns or accidents accurately
- Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety
- Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed
Prerequisites:
- Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
- Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider
- Covid Vaccine 2 doses
- Proof of up to date immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step Tuberculosis skin test
- Must be willing to complete N95 Mask fit testing during the training
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- English (oral/written) fluency is a must
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
