Over the past 19 years, Aberdeen Hall has become a top-level independent school that provides excellent academics and a strong character education to our diverse student population of 700 preschool to grade 12 children.
We have opportunities for Lead After-School Counselors for a 10-month commitment starting September 2025 through June 2026.
Program Details
The Lead Counselor will play a key supervisory role in the day-to-day operations of the after-school care program, working under the guidance of the After-School Care Coordinator. You will support and oversee a team of After School Care Counselors, helping to ensure smooth transitions, student supervision, and engaging daily activities. Your responsibilities include coordinating routines, monitoring attendance and groupings, maintaining a safe and positive environment for students, and acting as a supportive liaison between counselors and families. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys both working with children and leading peers in a collaborative setting.

The after-school program follows the school calendar and will be closed during school breaks (Thanksgiving, Winter, Spring, & Easter weekend)

Success Factors
- Experience working in childcare, recreation, or education
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong communicator with parents, children, and colleagues
- Positive role model with high standards of professionalism
- Ability to commit to the full 10-month school year (September to June)
- Available to work 5 days a week from 3:00-5:15 pm
- First Aid/CPR certification or willing to obtain
- Background in Early Childhood Education or a similar field (asset)
- Known to model the highest standards of professional practice and interactions with all stakeholders
