Role Description This is a part-time on-site role for a Personal Support Worker based in Mississauga, ON. The Personal Support Worker will assist clients with daily living tasks, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and mobility support. The role also involves providing emotional support, companionship, and ensuring the safety and well-being of clients. Collaboration with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans is required.

Schedule Details Part‑Time Position: Approximately 28 hours per week, with option to convert into full time role.

Key Responsibilities: Personal & Cognitive Support Provide gentle assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting. Offer cueing, redirection, and reassurance to support memory, orientation, and emotional stability. Maintain a calm, predictable routine to reduce confusion and anxiety. Engage the client in simple, meaningful activities (conversation, music, light exercises, sensory activities).

Mobility & Safety Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and fall‑prevention strategies. Monitor for changes in behaviour, mood, or physical condition and report concerns promptly. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free environment.

Daily Living Support Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding if required. Provide medication reminders (no administration required). Support continence care and maintain hygiene with dignity and respect. Perform light housekeeping related to the client’s care.

Communication & Collaboration Communicate clearly and compassionately with family members and care coordinators. Document daily observations and care activities as required. Contribute to a supportive, respectful, and client‑centered care environment.

Qualifications Certification as a Personal Support Worker or equivalent qualifications Vulnerable Sector Check, CPR and First Aid certification Experience in support work and related caregiving responsibilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding practices Ability to provide technical support for clients needing assistance with basic medical equipment or devices Patience, empathy, and a compassionate approach to care Experience in elder care, disability support, or home care is advantageous

Other Requirements Must have a car and at least G2 licence Must be able to work flexible works
