Job Title: Early Childhood Education Instructor
Location: Onsite, Mississauga Campus, 100 City Centre Drive, Unit 1-1001, Mississauga, ON L5B 2C9
Hours: Part-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Start Date: August 24, 2026
Compensation: $27/hr - $31/hr
The Opportunity: The primary responsibilities of this position are to provide quality delivery of assigned Early Childhood Education courses utilizing a variety of instruction strategies, techniques, and delivery methods to meet the individual learning styles of the students, in a safe and civil learning environment. Instructors are responsible for teaching assigned courses in accordance with course competencies, taking daily attendance, and grading class tests, assignments, and exams.
What you'll be doing: Ensuring that class delivery is optimized. Prepare lecture/lab and class materials as required. Develop and/or utilize a variety of instructional strategies, techniques and delivery methods designed to meet the individual learning styles of students. Instruct assigned courses in accordance with course competencies. Teach and facilitate classes. Effective use of the Learning Management System (LMS), to access course content. Ensure students can access the LMS platform and other electronic course materials. Respond to student questions about the LMS platform and escalate questions where there is uncertainty to the LMS Administrator. Prepare and grade tests, assignments, and examinations. Administer assessments using the LMS platform. Moderate and submit student grades using the LMS platform. Enter student grades in the recorded system as per campus protocol. Monitor and enter student attendance in XCAS (the Campus Administration system). Inform students about course requirements, evaluation procedures, attendance policies, and provide students with a copy of course outline to review. Advise students regarding their academic needs and refer them for additional assistance as needed. Ensure students are meeting academic guidelines and communicate progress to the Campus Director. Identify students who are struggling, absent or have issues impacting their successful progress and escalate on proactive basis to the Campus Director.
What you bring to the position: Early Childhood Educator (ECE) registered and in good standing with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators is required. Five (5) years of related work experience in an Early Childhood Education environment is required. University degree in a related field (Teaching, Early Childhood Education, etc.) is required. A degree or diploma in Adult Education is considered an asset. Understanding of Adult Learning Principles is preferred. Teaching experience is preferred. Readiness and willingness to apply different ways of communicating to accommodate various learning styles. Ability to facilitate group sessions and presentations.
