Position Summary

Regular Part-Time Support Staff, new position

The Junior Digital Solutions Developer supports the analysis, design, development, and maintenance of digital front-end solutions. This role contributes to building and enhancing web presences using Agility CMS, ERP web portal technologies, and modern application frameworks, including .NET.

Key responsibilities include supporting modernization initiatives, maintaining existing applications, preparing technical documentation, and assisting with troubleshooting. The incumbent collaborates with IT team members in an Agile environment and uses tools such as Azure DevOps while adhering to established quality and control standards.

Successful candidates will be required to conduct work within Ontario and must be available to work on campus as required. It is anticipated that this position will meet the needs of the department through a hybrid work arrangement, Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with one day on-site at Conestoga’s 3065 King St. office in Kitchener, and four days remote.

Responsibilities

Work with senior developers on the analysis and development of new web presences using .NET, including integration with Agility CMS for content management, component creation, testing, and content migration Analyze, develop, and support web portal technologies, Support ongoing updates, enhancements, and modernization of existing web presences, including migration to newer .NET frameworks and platforms Prepare and maintain related technical documentation in Confluence Work within Agile methodologies to support iterative development and delivery Use Azure DevOps for code management, work tracking, and deployment activities Provide support for additional digital front-end initiatives

Qualifications

A three-year diploma or degree in IT or related programs is required Practical experience through academic projects, co-op placements, or internships in web or software development using object-oriented programming with C# on .NET is preferred Experience or familiarity with SQL and development tools such as Azure DevOps or equivalent platforms is preferred Foundational knowledge of web development concepts, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design principles Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), preferably Agility CMS or similar headless CMS platforms Exposure to web portal technologies or frameworks Basic understanding of software development practices, including version control, testing, and deployment processes Understanding of Agile methodologies and iterative development practices Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear technical documentation Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks Demonstrated willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools
