Role Overview…

The YMCA of Three Rivers is seeking energetic and dedicated individuals to be part of our kitchen team. Fuel the adventure by preparing delicious meals, supporting a welcoming dining experience, and playing a key role in making unforgettable memories at YMCA Camp Ki-Wa-Y!

As a Camp Cook, you’ll help bring people together through great food. Whether you're preparing hearty meals for hungry participants, accommodating dietary needs, or keeping the kitchen running smoothly, your work ensures every guest feels cared for and energized for their outdoor adventures.

As one of the largest YMCA camp providers, the YMCA of Three Rivers plays a leading role in providing quality camp experiences for our guests. The Outdoor Centre at Camp Ki-Wa-Y hosts thousands of guests from diverse backgrounds throughout the season. It is our goal to provide accessible, inclusive, and proactive opportunities for personal growth and involvement to help build a stronger, healthier, and more vibrant community.

 

 

What you will do… 

  • Deliver friendly, responsive, and professional customer service to guests and clients
  • Support the preparation and service of meals for groups of up to 100+ participants
  • Assist with meal setup, snack preparation and delivery, dishwashing, and the cleaning of kitchen and dining facilities
  • Help ensure all dietary accommodations and special nutrition requirements are met safely and accurately
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and safety throughout all food service operations
  • Follow safe food handling, sanitation, and food safety procedures at all times.
  • Support inventory management by completing food orders and maintaining an organized storage space
  • Contribute to the overall cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation of the site.
  • Provide support to other departments and assist with additional duties as assigned

What you will bring…

 

  • Previous experience working in a kitchen or food service environment, preferably in a camp, school, or group setting
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and experience accommodating dietary restrictions
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • A commitment to working in a socially inclusive environment and responding to diverse needs with sensitivity
  • Flexibility regarding assigned working hours, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Up-to-date Safe Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • A successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check within the last six months
  • Working towards or completion of post-secondary education in a related field is considered an asset
