Job Summary & Key Responsibilities

A part-time academic is required to teach INTD 2001.03, “Global Justice and Development I” in the fall term of the 2026-27 academic year, September 1 to December 31, 2026. The part-time academic is responsible for all aspects of teaching, grading and administration of the class, including the required tutorials. In addition, the part-time academic is to be available for two hours per week outside of class time for student consultation. The part-time academic reports to the Chair of the IDS Department.

Global Justice and Development I focuses on the core challenge of international development – inequality. It explores how the world became so unequal, and how the economic and ideological understandings of ‘development’ have contributed to growing global inequality. There is a special focus on South Asia.

Qualifications/Requirements of Position

The successful applicant will have research and teaching expertise on South Asia and a graduate degree in International Development Studies or a closely related discipline. Prior teaching experience is required.

All offers of employment as a Part-Time Academic are conditional upon sufficient student enrolment in the course and approval by the University

Salary Range/Pay Rate

As per CUPE collective agreemnet
