JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a reliable, skilled and experienced 2nd Cooks to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Responsible for secondary food production, preparation, cuts and transformation of all raw products, cooking of all ingredients utilizing all methods including but not limited to; sautéing, grilling, roasting, frying, baking, poaching, steaming, stewing, braising, smoking etc. Maintain a standard of food quality in accordance with specific guidelines provided by the Chef de Partie, Sous-Chefs, Executive Sous Chef and Executive Chef Sauce and soup making, more elaborate pastries, basic chocolate work, hot and cold line cooking in casual restaurant Uphold high levels of kitchen hygiene as per Provincial Standards Desire to improve and learn on a daily basis Other duties as required SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position does not require any direct supervisory responsibilities. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES 2 - 3 years kitchen experience preferred Able to lift 50+ lbs Superior organizational skills with the ability to multi-task Desire to improve and learn on a daily basis Ability to work under pressure and supervise other cooks during service Must be personable, friendly and outgoing with excellent customer service skills High energy and strong work ethic WORKING CONDITIONS Hours of Operation are weather dependant. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include a variety of start times, including shifts on weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, and other forms of manual tasks. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS $20.23 - $23.66 /hour Exact rates are based on skills and experience.
