Position Overview

The psychologist for the OWN Program (Ontario Workers Network) in mental health plays a key role in the clinical assessment and coordination of the psychological and functional recovery of clients presenting with work-related mental health disorders.

They contribute to the development and implementation of evidence-based treatment plans aimed at improving overall functioning and supporting a sustainable return to work. In close collaboration with the interdisciplinary OWN program team, the WSIB, and community partners, the psychologist acts as a clinical expert in mental health.

As part of their duties, the psychologist may also provide clinical support to the Mental Health and Addictions Program of the CRSMT and may be required to work at different sites according to organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Specialized psychological and diagnostic assessment

  • Development and follow-up of individualized treatment plans

  • Psychotherapeutic intervention (individual and/or group)

  • Collaboration with the Functional Recovery Coordination (FRC)

  • Contribution to return-to-work planning

  • Interdisciplinary collaboration

  • Preparation of clinical reports in compliance with WSIB requirements

PERMANENT PART-TIME POSITION – 0.4 FTE – daytime schedule with some evenings

Salary in accordance with the OPSEU collective agreement

Criminal Check

As a pre-condition of employment:

  • All new HGH employees will be required to obtain and provide a satisfactory Police Records Check dated within six (6) months from the date of issue.

What we are looking for

Doctorate in Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.)
Member in good standing of the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO)
Authorized for autonomous practice
Training or expertise in adult mental health
Training in evidence-based therapies (e.g., CBT, ACT)

Experience:

Clinical experience in mental health, ideally in a rehabilitation or work-related context
Experience with WSIB clientele or in case management (important asset)
Experience in psychological assessment, including differential diagnosis
Experience in return to work / vocational reintegration (major asset)

Key Competencies:

Excellent communication skills (French and English, spoken and written)
Strong clinical judgment and analytical abilities
Ability to integrate clinical and functional dimensions (biopsychosocial approach)
Skills in managing complex cases
Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities
Attention to detail in documentation and respect for deadlines
Focus on sustainable functional outcomes
