Description We seek to hire a temporary 20/hour a week Next Generation Youth Pastor, with potential for permanent hire. The successful candidate will oversee our Youth Ministry Program by providing pastoral care and developing and supporting discipleship for our youth who are grades 6 to 12. Overview of Church and Community Mount Hamilton Baptist Church is a flourishing faith community that has served on Hamilton Mountain for over 103 years. We are a diverse, inter-generational, beginner-friendly church with many young families and new followers of Christ. Over the past few years, the number of children and youths attending our church has risen dramatically. Of the 150+ people who attend MHBC regularly on a Sunday, 40 of them are children and youth. As many of our next generation come from families that attend our church, family support is an important goal of our ministry. Qualifications And Education Requirements An educational background in theology or ministry A passion and enthusiasm for the Next Generation Youth Experience in youth ministry A Master of Divinity or Master of Theological Studies degree would be an asset along with Ordination / Accreditation through the Canadian Baptists of Ontario or Quebec Role and Responsibilities The overall role of the Next Generation Youth Pastor is to facilitate the growth of the next generation of disciples of Mount Hamilton Baptist Church, within the church’s vision of being a connected, Christian, missional community. The successful candidate will report to the Lead Pastor. The responsibility of the Next Generation Youth Pastor is oversight and implementation of an effective youth ministry program. This includes: Regularly meeting with youth in grades 6-12 to help them connect Leading our weekly youth groups in coordination with our volunteer team Overseeing the Jr Youth Sunday School program Taking the youth on a yearly retreat, possibly with the CBOQ youth retreats Leading a Senior High Bible study periodically throughout the year Creating and leading missional opportunities in our community for our youth Creating ways for youth to connect to MHBC Support and training for families to help build faith at home through consistent communication with families, and providing resources and training Pastoral care for children and youth by visiting and connecting to youth and families, and supporting them in times of crisis Ensuring the needs of children and youth and the importance of their discipleship remains central at MHBC Contact Please send cover letter and resume to [email protected]

Requirements
Requires an educational background in theology or ministry and a passion for youth engagement. A Master of Divinity or Theological Studies and ordination through the CBOQ are considered assets.
