Job summary

Oulton College is seeking a qualified and passionate Nursing Faculty member to deliver Medical-Surgical Nursing didactic and lab courses within our Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) program. This course prepares students for the role of the registered nurse in complex medical-surgical environments, emphasizing safe, ethical, and evidence-based care. This is a full-time permanent position; however, we are open to considering a part-time contract arrangement if it better suits the successful candidate. The successful candidate will support students in developing clinical reasoning, critical thinking, and practical skills through both theory instruction and a required lab component. Key Responsibilities Deliver course content through lectures and hands-on lab sessions Facilitate student learning in areas including: Facilitate student learning in areas such as pain management, wound care, perioperative care, and complex health conditions Integrate nursing theory with health science concepts to support clinical decision-making Guide students in applying the nursing process to diverse patient populations Promote the use of evidence-informed practice and clinical reasoning Grade assignments, exams, and learning activities Provide timely, constructive feedback to students Foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment Collaborate with faculty and program teams as required Requirements Minimum of a Master’s degree in Nursing Current registration (or eligibility) with a provincial nursing regulatory body Recent clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing Experience teaching at the post-secondary level, with demonstrated ability to engage and support degree-level learners, is considered a strong asset Strong understanding of learning outcomes, assessment design, and academic standards aligned with undergraduate education Excellent communication, organizational, and instructional skills Benefits Competitive wages 5 weeks of paid vacation Scrub allowance Monday to Friday, daytime hours (option for part-time work as well) Paid annual licensing fees Free on-site parking Professional development opportunities and financial support for continuing education Employee health benefits (50/50 copay with employer) Group Retirement Savings Plan with employer contribution matching Positive and supportive work environment Opportunities for professional development In addition, we offer a paid “day-in-the-life” experience to explore teaching before committing!
