Job Description – Bilingual Proofreader (Quebec French & English) – Part-Time Contract Job Title: Bilingual Proofreader (Quebec French & English) Location: Remote (Canada) Employment Type: Part-Time Contract (20 hours/week) Duration: Ongoing, Long-Term Contract (Initial 6-Month Engagement with Opportunity for Extension) About the Opportunity Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Bilingual Proofreader who is fluent in both Quebec French and English to support a long-term consumer brand account. This is a fully remote, part-time contract requiring approximately 20 hours per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all marketing and consumer-facing materials are linguistically accurate, grammatically correct, and consistent with brand standards in both English and Quebec French. This role is strictly focused on proofreading—no copywriting or editing is required. Following the initial six-month engagement, there may be an opportunity to expand the relationship, including potential full-time employment for candidates located near one of the client's offices. Responsibilities Proofread marketing, promotional, and consumer-facing materials in both Quebec French and English Ensure all content is free of spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, and formatting errors Verify consistency in terminology, tone, and brand voice across translated and original materials Review digital and print-ready documents before publication Ensure French copy reflects authentic Quebec French usage and localization standards Meet project deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail Collaborate with internal creative and account teams throughout the review process Qualifications 3–5 years of professional proofreading experience Native or near-native fluency in Quebec French with excellent written English Strong understanding of Quebec French grammar, spelling, and language conventions Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify even minor inconsistencies Experience proofreading marketing, advertising, retail, or consumer-facing content Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize deadlines in a fast-paced environment Comfortable working independently in a remote environment Technical Requirements Experience using: Adobe Acrobat Microsoft Office Suite Mac or PC environment Preferred Experience Experience proofreading content for consumer packaged goods (CPG), retail, food, or restaurant brands Familiarity with agency or creative studio workflows Experience reviewing translated marketing materials Work Arrangement Fully Remote (Canada) Approximately 20 hours per week Long-term freelance/contract opportunity Initial six-month engagement with potential for ongoing work Future opportunity to transition into a full-time role (if business needs evolve). Candidates should ideally be located near one of the client's office locations should a permanent opportunity arise.
