Qualifications: * Excellent communication and organizational skills. * Excellent time management and problem solving skills. * Superior customer service skills. * Ability to converse with guests in a courteous and professional manner. * Ability to deal with all levels of management in a professional manner. * Ability to work independently. * Proficient/familiarity with Microsoft Office and/or QUORE is an asset * Must be available mornings, evenings and weekends. * Able to work a flexible schedule. * May be asked to work overtime. Major Duties and Responsibilities * Supervise and coordinate the activities of Room Attendants, Laundry Attendants, and Houseperson and Public Area Cleaners * Inspects the level of cleanliness in guest rooms, storage areas, laundry areas, restrooms and public areas and take corrective actions on deficiencies to ensure Brand standards are met and exceeded. * Assign daily room and cleaning duties based on occupancy and staffing levels. * Assists in scheduling staff according to standards and forecasted occupancy * Assists in the ordering and receiving of linen and cleaning supplies to maintain appropriate inventory levels necessary for efficient operation of the department; assists with monthly inventory count and inputs and compiles inventory data when necessary. * Ensures the completion of the daily Housekeeper’s Reports and communicates clean and available rooms to the Guest Services Department * Identifies improvements, efficiencies, and deficiencies and report any maintenance or repair issues. * Verify room status on AM report. Check vacant rooms and update discrepant rooms throughout the shift. * Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction. * Supports and assists the Housekeeping, House person & Laundry teams as required. * Assists in the hiring, training and career development of all housekeeping employees; assists with performance evaluations and communicating performance standards to employees. * Follows company policies and procedures and is able to effectively communicate them to subordinates. * Conducts training regarding safety, security, department procedures and service guidelines. * Ensures hotel is in compliance with all federal, provincial and local laws, including Health and Safety, and Human Rights. * Fulfills Manager on Duty and Lobby Duty shifts.
