Seminar in Latin American History: Dictature en Amérique latine : Guerre froide, répression transnationale et droits humain.
Ce séminaire examine les dictatures latino-américaines à travers le prisme de la Guerre froide, de la répression transnationale et du paradigme des droits humains. Nous interrogerons d'abord les facteurs internes et externes — notamment l'interventionnisme étasunien, et les dynamiques socio-économiques— qui ont catalysé l'émergence de ces régimes dans la région à partir de la seconde moitié du XXe siècle. Nous réfléchirons ensuite aux dictatures d'Amérique du Sud et au Plan Condor, ce réseau de terreur transnational ayant facilité la persécution politique, à l'échelle nationale et internationale, des « ennemis de l’État ». Dans cette partie, nous nous concentrerons sur les personnes disparues, l’exil et le corps des femmes, à travers l'étude des naissances clandestines et du vol systématique de nourrissons motivé par la doctrine de la sécurité nationale. Enfin, nous étudierons les différentes manifestations de résistance et d’activisme local exigeant le retour des disparus. Ces mouvements ont trouvé un écho à l’échelle internationale contribuant à construire un paradigme des droits humains visant à délégitimer ces dictatures et à promouvoir un cadre universel de justice. En analysant des archives déclassifiées, des témoignages, des rapports de commissions de la vérité, ainsi que l’art comme outil de dénonciation, les étudiant·e·s retraceront cette période de l’histoire latino-américaine à l'aide de sources primaires.
