As a Driver at Chartwell, you’ll ensure our residents, staff, and volunteers travel safely and comfortably to appointments, errands, recreational outings, and special events. Your professionalism, care, and friendly demeanor will help create safe, enjoyable experiences and keep our community connected. What You’ll Do * Safely operate the residence vehicle to transport residents, staff, and volunteers to scheduled outings and events * Assist passengers on and off the bus, ensuring they are seated securely, including residents in wheelchairs * Act as a chaperone for residents during outings when required * Load and unload equipment safely and efficiently * Perform routine and unscheduled maintenance and safety checks on the vehicle * Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of both the interior and exterior of the bus * Communicate courteously and professionally with residents, staff, volunteers, and the public What You’ll Bring * Secondary school education or equivalent * First Aid Certificate (training provided if needed) * Previous driving experience; Required License or willingness to obtain * Teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues * Strong communication and customer service abilities * Organizational skills to maintain a safe, clean, and efficient vehicle environment What We Offer * A safe, inclusive workplace where you’re supported and appreciated * Competitive compensation and benefits * Opportunities for leadership development and career growth * A warm, welcoming culture inspired by our vision of making people’s lives better, driven by our mission to create happy, healthy, and meaningful lives for our residents Additional Requirements * Clear Driving Record * Ability to work flexible hours as needed * Preparedness to respond to emergency situations while in transit * Working outdoors in various weather and traffic conditions * Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, push, and pull to assist passengers * Clear Criminal Background Check, VSS and TB Test where required At Chartwell, we’re all about Making People’s Lives BETTER: the lives of our residents and their families, and the lives of our employees.
