The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) invites applications for the position of Urgent Care Centre Physicians at the new Urgent Care Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan. Be a part of this great new service as it gets underway and help build the rotations!
The Regina Urgent Care Centre is currently under construction and is anticipated to be functional in the summer of 2024. The new facility is an important addition to health care services for Regina and area residents and will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Urgent Care Centre will offer patients an alternative to the emergency room for immediate treatment in non-life threatening situations, such as minor breaks or sprains and illnesses or fevers. It will be staffed with a multidisciplinary care team, including mental health professionals, to provide patients better access to urgent medical attention for a variety of needs.
The Urgent Care Centre in Regina may expect to see clients whom experience disproportionate health disparity, complex chronic medical and social health concerns and barriers to access.
The SHA is dedicated to learning and is a partner in the growing educational needs of medical students and residents from the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan. The University of Saskatchewan is a research-intensive institution with 22,000 students and 7,000 faculty and staff, and a strong reputation for innovation and excellence. The College of Medicine has an intake of 100 students per year with a commensurate number of positions for residency training. The Department of Family Medicine has distributed training sites in Saskatoon and Regina.
