This posting will be used to fill 1 permanent part-time position working 60 hours bi-weekly. It will establish a 12-month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions.

This job is based in the thriving and diverse city of Whitehorse in the beautiful Yukon.

Who we are looking for

The Yukon Palliative Care program is looking for a dynamic, organized individual with strong clinical and teaching skills to join the Palliative Care Resource Team. We are looking for an individual who is committed to providing compassionate services to clients with life-limiting illnesses, their families/caregivers as well as building capacity within multidisciplinary heath care teams. As a member of the PCRT, this position is responsible for forging relationships that support palliative care service delivery across Yukon, and is a coordinator for palliative care education, in acute care, residential care and community settings.

Essential qualifications
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.

  • Degree or diploma in education, recreation, policy, health sciences, business, or public administration.
  • Experience researching, compiling, and synthesizing information to provide evidence-based recommendations.
  • Experience planning, implementing, and evaluating programs related to the delivery of educational initiatives.
  • Experience providing education support services to organizations, clients, families, and care givers;
  • Extensive experience facilitating groups such as adult education sessions
  • Experience working in the health care sector, including in palliative care specifically is an asset.

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered

Conditions of employment

You must meet the following conditions before being hired, or within the time frame noted.

TB screening; Vulnerable Sector RCMP Security Clearance; CRP level C; willingness to travel, valid Yukon Driver's Licence and eligibility for full registration with the association in your chosen field are requirements of this position.

Job requirements

This job requires you to perform, and/or be exposed to, the following:

Exposure to pets, exposure to second-hand smoke, latex products, flowers and/or plants and other irritants while in client homes, stress and emotion in dealing with client, resident and family on issues surrounding death, dying and bereavement, and occasional travel by ground and air.
