Residential Support Worker (RSW) – York Region (Holland's Landing – East Gwillimbury)

Full time, Part-time and Casual positions available

As a Residential Support Worker, you will provide quality person-centered support to youth and adults using Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)-based interventions in the home, community under the supervision of a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) and Clinical and Operational Manager. You will receive a comprehensive orientation including Advanced CPI Training and ongoing supervision.

Primary Responsibilities

As a Residential Support Worker, you will:

  • Supporting clients with community involvement and independence to optimize the individual's quality of life
  • Assisting and teaching daily living activities, and life skills to promote the self-esteem and well-being
  • Daily documentation and reporting
  • Medication Administration (as delegated)
  • Managing challenging behaviors and situations using CPI knowledge and principles
  • Assisting with household activities and chores
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

 Skills & Qualifications

To take on the role of Residential Support Worker, you must have:

  • Certificate from a related field such as Diploma in Behaviour Science, Developmental Service Worker (DSW), Child and Youth Yorker, Degree or Diploma from a Human Services related program  OR a Personal Support Worker certificate.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
  • Must have a driving license and should be able to drive
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 3 months
  • Collaborative with an interdisciplinary team including family members
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Proven interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Previous community experience working with youth with developmental disabilities, challenging behavior would be considered an asset
